At home with the skeleton

I am a physical therapist working in outpatient orthopedics in Austin, TX. In clinical practice I enjoy working with a wide variety of patients, and cherish the opportunity to assist in their care.

I worked as an actuary for several years before becoming a PT. No joke. I'm probably the only Licensed Physical Therapist and Doctor of Physical Therapy who was also once an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary. Though if you ever meet another, please put me in touch with that person because we need to talk.

Given my previous profession I retain a love of spreadsheets, databases, and statistics. But the study of human movement is a central preoccupation of mine. My current focus with this blog is describing how to create more life-like skeletal models that can clarify our understanding of how we humans move (and how we can learn to move better).
